As you can see from the beautiful pictures, his work is influenced by nature, Finnish folklore, fantasy and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist. Bee scarf, hand printed wool

We are truly delighted to be introducing Klaus Haapaniemi’s fine textile designs here at the shop. Artist Klaus Haapaniemi and designer Mia Wallenius founded their design studio together in 2010, in London.

Klaus is a talented illustrator who has designed everything from prints for Clements Ribeiro, Cacharel, and Marimekko, to ceramics for Iittala, to book covers for Penguin. His partner Mia is a creative designer and has worked as Senior Art Director for Gucci Group. Together, their studio produces the most beautiful scarves, throws, and pillows. Their approach is self-described as “influenced by nature, Finnish folklore, fantasy and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist.”
