Thanks to everyone who came out to our store opening at 886 Queen Street West (and if you didn’t know about it join our mailing list!) It was an amazing night and we celebrated with a trunk show of Susan Gouinlock’s “Head in the Clouds” organic linen shirt collection. We still have a few in stock – so check in!

This Sunday June 11, Jennifer and Richard are taking a well deserved break and so the store will be closed for the day.

Fauvel Flat Sandal in Specchio, Handmade in France

Morgane Fauvel is a French-born designer and shoemaker based in Paris. A graduate of the Atelier Chardon Sarvard in 2011, she proceeded to complete her formation in shoes with Robert Clergerie.

From this solid foundation she has now launched her debut footwear line, Fauvel. 100% hand made in Paris and produced in-house, the label champions a strong philosophy in technical and aesthetic innovation.

The collection aims to achieve a balance between tradition and innovation whilst maintaining Fauvel’s own personal touch; adding a feminine element to artisanal shoemaking.

‘I would like to design and fabricate a capsule collection each season. Producing a small run allows a strong focus on high quality fabrication and also preserves exclusivity in production. Entirely made by hand in my workshop the design and production is united in the same space and allows freedom in design and research.

I propose minimal shoes, combining attention to detail and technical originality. The shoes are distinctly classic with masculine traits, which follow artisanal construction techniques in production. The collection intentionally avoids a pure appearance through the play on colour and finish. But I am trying to avoid a clean and intellectual appearance, by also using colors and texture.’

Thierry Colson Blue Stripe Kaftan, 100% Cotton

We are so excited to welcome designer Thierry Colson to Gaspard. Fervently involved in fashion, he has worked as a consultant for luxury brands Jil Sander, Chloe, Lacoste and Hermes, as well as a fashion editor for Vogue Homme international magazine, Glamour, Mixte, Numéro Homme and Madame Figaro.

Thierry Colson launched his first collection in 2005, in shirting for both men and women. His first project soon became a womenswear collection. Indian blockprint exclusive designs and handmade embroideries reveal Thierry Colson’s affection for artisanal work. All the shirting is made in France with fine Italian poplins.

Delicate, innocent and relaxed, his collections always start from a journey memory, the souvenir of a trip that stimulates his creativity and seduce our imagination.
