Fall Outfits

Roberto Collina 3/4 sleeve knit jacket | Mercy Liberty Wool top | Iosselliani necklace | Jamin Puech Carabosse purse | Handmade leather palm crochet back cork gloves by Dents | Mercy quilted Liberty skirt

Looking for some Fall outfit inspiration? With cooler weather come great opportunities for layering! We’ve got knits from Roberto Collina in neutral colours, some with a hint of metallic to add a little sparkle to any outfit. Here the 3/4 sleeve knit jacket is layered over a Mercy Liberty print top (see above) and dress (see below).

Finally, accessories are best not overlooked! They really complete an outfit and give a place for the eye to rest. I’m constantly surprised how the complex and colourful Iosselliani pieces look so right with everything from a floral printed blouse to a graphic t-shirt.

Remember that mixing colour, texture, and even pattern can lead to a rich and satisfying outfit. If ever you have a question about styling or if you’re just wondering whether or not something is working, feel free to ask on your next visit. We would love to help you put together an amazing outfit!

New Arrival : Scarves by Inouitoosh

We are happy to be introducing the Inouitoosh scarf line from Paris. And just in time for this cooler weather!

Each scarf is made of either a soft Cashmere and wool, silk and wool blend, or a thicker boiled wool ($160-$195)

They make a great gift and come packaged in an envelope made from recycled Indian newspaper by an NGO whose main objective is to provide education and shelter to street children.

The wait is over! The new Fall/Winter Collection by Iosselliani has arrived from Rome and it does not disappoint. Necklace with Swarovski rhinestones | Fringe earrings

One of two long necklaces from this collection. Gold plated, with black agate beads. We had it on the mannequin with the new Mercy quilted Liberty dress and it sat perfectly framed by the waist.

This long fringe necklace with Black Agate and Gunmetal plating looks great with an oversized tee, tunic, or a drop waist dress.

FW 2012 Mercy : September

We have now received our first delivery of the Fall 2012 collection from Mercy.

Earlier this summer I visited the studio and took some photographs of samples. Now in store, we have beautiful light wool shirt dresses, tops, and button down shirts (in a variety of colours and prints), as well as quilted cotton Liberty dresses (cap sleeve and 1/2 sleeve) and stunning high-waisted skirts in abstract inky blue florals as well as grey-green.

On model : Mercy Liberty Print Wool Shirtdress in blue (also available in pink) $340
On mannequin : Antoni and Alison dress, Mercy Liberty Print Wool Shirt in blue, Maison Boinet belt,  Indress feather headpiece worn as a brooch.

And while you certainly don’t have to look like a mannequin to pull off this look (seriously – this Mercy shirt dress flatters most body types), it sure makes for a fun photograph!

FNO & Antipast

Grey lace Antipast tights ($65) – they also come in black, blue, dark navy, and cream. One thing that makes these special is that there is no seam up the middle to the waistband. They are all one piece!
Les Prairies de Paris Python heels $395

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend our Fashion’s Night Out event on Thursday. We had a lot of fun hosting, and are already looking forward to our next party (stay tuned!)

We also want to congratulate Sonja on winning the sock decorating contest – what a great looking sock (see last picture) She won a beautiful pair of socks by Antipast!

We still have many styles of Japanese tights ($65-$95 each) and socks ($45) available in the shop. Though they are proving to be quite popular (especially the wool tights), so visit soon!

Introducing : Wouters & Hendrix

We are excited to welcome Wouters & Hendrix to our jewelry offerings here at Gaspard. The designers behind this label are Katrin Wouters & Karen Hendrix, who are graduates from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. They like to play in contrasts: between shadow and light; ostentation and austerity, and have a wonderful sense of humour, as demonstrated in their Onyx and Labradorite ring pops (see in store!).

While fun in design, the materials they use ensure a sophisticated and timeless beauty. The pieces are plated in 18k gold, over a sterling silver base. The stones featured in the current collections include Onyx, Labradorite, and Rutilated Quartz. Photographed below are only a few of the pieces we are carrying. Please visit us in-store to view our full selection.
